What is the Ralph M. Brown Act? How is it applied to the Workforce Development Board?

The Ralph M. Brown Act (Government Code Section 54950, et seq.)

The Brown Act embodies the philosophy that public agencies exist for the purpose of conducting public business, and the public has the right to know how its “collaborative decisions” are being made.

The Kern, Inyo and Mono county Workforce Development Board oversees Employers’ Training Resource, a federally funded agency that is required to abide by the Ralph M. Brown Act when conducting business.
